Our South African operations are made up of three separate business entities, respectively trading in wool brokering, wool buying/trading, as well as the home and décor market.
Segard Masurel Wool Brokers is the newest company in the Segard Masurel Group. Established in 2009, Segard Masurel Wool Brokers has quickly grown to become the 3rd largest broker in the South African wool industry.
Segard Masurel South Africa, the buying company, was established in SA in 1948 and is part of the long-established and internationally respected Segard Masurel group – also established in Australia, New Zealand and Europe. Through our wool broking arm, and our international trading division, we are able to follow and control the wool process literally from the sheep’s back up to first stage production.
Fibre4Design provides a unique service to supply wool tops to our country’s growing home and decor based industries, who transform the fibre, making unique and bespoke products.
Segard Masurel Wool Brokers
Through the broking division we offer South African wool farmers in-depth analysis of their clips, as well as providing information and insights into global trends in the wool industry. We offer assistance with shearing, and we also provide the wool farmer with two options for marketing wool – either through the auction system, or via our direct buying scheme.
At Segard Masurel Wool Brokers we pride ourselves on personal service at the most competitive cost to wool farmers in South Africa, no per bale handling fees and no binning fees. We are the only group in South Africa that are involved from an on farm level through broking and buying and the processing of wool into tops for sale into the international market.

We supply wool to topmakers, spinners, weavers and garment manufacturers.
We are proud to be able to provide genuine, full and verifiable traceability for non-mulesed wool tops on demand : we created Abelusi Wool.
